Thunder took former Elite League outfit Basingstoke Bison to overtime on Saturday, before falling to Streatham on home ice Sunday.

Netminder Tom Annetts stopped all 35 shots he faced during regulation at Basingstoke as MKT picked up a point from the league leaders in front of a large crowd.

Bison forward Daniel Davies found a way past Annetts 14 seconds into overtime to score the game’s only goal and give the hosts the bonus point.

Streatham started on the front foot Sunday when Ryan Watt gave the South Londoners a 1-0 lead inside four minutes, with the advantage being doubled by Daniel Rose before the first period ended.

Matthew Colclough in the visiting goal continued to thwart all Thunder attacks as the game progressed. Colclough’s teammates made the most of his display by adding a third goal late in the second period through Ryan Webb’s power play effort.

Alex Sampford made it 4-0 five minutes into the third, and with both goalies closing the door from then on, it remained 4-0 come the final buzzer.

Thunder have a two-week break over the holidays before before returning to action at Streatham on Saturday, Jan. 6. Lewis Clifford’s men return to home ice on Sunday, Jan 7 for the visit of Swindon Wildcats. Face off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
