On Sunday Thunder found themselves in a tight game with London Raiders at Lee Valley Ice Centre, which took overtime and then penalty shots to settle which team would take the two points.

Matthew Turner scored on the powerplay midway through the second period for the game’s first goal, and that’s how things remained until Thunder struck twice in 19 seconds.

With a delayed penalty call coming up on London, Jamie Line and Ross Bowers combined to setup Rio Grinell-Parke for the equalizer in the 47th minute.

Seconds after the ensuring faceoff MKT were head thanks to Ross Green who lit the lamp thanks to some neat play from Grant McPherson and O’Flaherty.

Raiders tied the game through J.J. Pithchley with nine minutes left on the clock, and then converted twice in the shootout to send Thunder home with just the one point in their back pocket.
