Thunder came up short with their comeback attempt on Sunday night to go down on home ice to London Raiders.
A sluggish start Sunday saw London jump into a 6-1 lead before Thunder mounted a comeback effort that ultimately fell short.
Early goals from Jake Sylvester and Tom Davis got London on the board with Alex Whyte feeding Jaime Line to bring Thunder within one.
Further goals from Alan Lack, Marek Nahlik, and J.J. Pitchley gave the Raiders security, and it was 6-1 midway through the second when Olegs Lascenko scored shorthanded.
Four straight Thunder goals then put the home team within touching distance. Two from Grinell-Parke along with efforts from Ross Bowers and Tom Carlon had London on the back foot with 10 minutes to go.
Thunder pressed for an equalizer but were undone with Pitchley struck again on the power play with under four minutes to play to seal his team’s 7-5 win.
