great brtain u20 goalie lawday signed for thunder in summer 2018 on a two-way contract with elite league powerhouse cardiff devils.

the teenager was named in the 2017-18 nihl 1 south allstar team last season after a string of standout performances for cardiff fire following his return to the uk following a stint in usa.

lawday played his junior hockey in his hometown of basingstoke, where his league hockey debut came in 2015-16 with nihl 2 outfit basingstoke buffalo.
