When I was asked to first train with Thunder, I was extremely nervous as I had only just turned 16. For then 2 days later to play in my first adult game, this was amazing. Over time, playing for MK Thunder I have grown in confidence and ability, which ended up with me playing 26 games last season. Without the help of the senior players and coaches in the squad I would not have achieved this. I am proud to say I am in the Thunder family.
I started playing hockey for Milton Keynes when I was in under 10s. When I was 15 I was asked to train with Thunder every week. I made my debut against Solihull in a friendly game a few days after my sixteenth birthday.
During my first season playing senior hockey with Thunder, I was really helped by the support of the team’s management they were giving me ice time and regular 1:1 development feedback. I was really supported by a great set of senior players who helped me through the whole season even when things got tough. Making my debut at 16 was an exciting moment for me and I was welcomed into the Thunder community straight away. The Thunder fans have been amazing every weekend, home and away.
Making my debut for Thunder was a great experience. For a 16-year-old like me who has grown up watching MK Thunder since I was a young boy, was honestly a great feeling.
I feel my game has come on massively and getting experience to play in this league is great. The management, coaches and all the lads have made me feel very welcome.
I am absolutely buzzing to have been asked to re-sign with Thunder for the new season!
