Thunder were back on home ice Sunday night for the visit of The Raiders. Having been heavily beaten in Romford at the end of September coach Clifford would have been looking for the guys to work hard for 60 minutes and improve on that performance. Although on the wrong end of their second 2 – 3 defeat in two home games, Thunder competed well in this game and really pushed a decent Raiders side all the way. However they let the visitors get a commanding three goal lead before fighting back, a short handed Huska goal gave Raiders a 0 – 1 lead at the end of the first. Two more goals came early in the second from Sylvester and although Thunder were outshooting them the Raiders were getting the bounces
A Tomas Rubes powerplay goal pulled it back to 1 – 3 and Jamie Line added the second for Thunder also on a powerplay. Thunder were back in the game and pressed Raiders hard in the last period looking for the equaliser. With the visitors rattled they up the physical play, they had two players ejected from the game – Huska for High Sticks, and Webster for a horrible check to the head on Grant McPerson which put G out of the game with very obvious concussion. Once the various resulting penalties had been served, the game only had a few minutes to go and despite pulling Annetts from goal for the extra man, Thunder were just unable to level the score.
The impressive Trevor LeBlanc took the man of the match beers for Thunder.
